shorthand notation

Shorthand notation uses existing Western notation. It notates asalato techniques similar to Western snare drum stickings, but in two lines: one for the hand it applies to, and one for the technique required.

For example, this is flip-flop delay.

The F in the top line refers to flip and flop, while F+ refers to flip or flop grab.

The B in the top line indicates both hands, while the R refers to the right hand, and the L refers to the left hand.

uses

This notation system is meant to be used to quickly write down the techniques needed to play snare drum music.

An example can be seen here:

Author's note: I use this mostly to remember the techniques required for a passage that I'm practicing, because it is incredibly fast to notate within Western musical notation software.
