The asalato does not have a standardized notation system. However, numerous attempts at notating the asalato have been noted.
As an example, each notation system has flip-flop delay notated below. These comparisons are made to showcase the variety of ways that asalato has been notated. No notation system is strictly better than the other.
glyph notation
The author of this website has developed a notation system for use in documenting the asalato, called glyph notation. It is based around glyphs that visually symbolize the movement of the hands for each technique. This notation system is used throughout infolato to to catalog rhythms in a written manner.
monotext notation
The author of this website has developed a notation system for use in documenting the asalato using only text characters, so that asalato rhythms can be written down quickly, in a machine-readable format. It takes inspiration from Nashville Number System.
