Throw a pause throw, then catch with other hand's index and middle fingers while the other hand holds another asalato.
This frees up a hand temporarily to snap, chest slap, or hit other instruments (such as a cajón or cymbal stack). The hand holding two asalato (four gourds) can shake, producing a louder shake sound.
The catch sound should be clear and articulate.

Author's note:
I developed this idea after wanting to find a way to strike a cajón with my hands while playing asalato.
